MESSAGE FOR PEOPLE TODAY FROM THE BOOK OF JOB

Please watch the Video Before Reading the Lesson Plan

Church: Philadelphia                       Lesson 33 of 39             Theme: Word of God

Background Information:

*  We asked in the book of 2 Kings, “How can the creation know that the cost of sin is death?”

Statement of Faith to Say Amen to for the Book of Job:

I can be awakened to know that Satan wants me to be self-righteous and not see the holiness and righteousness of God through the sacrifice that Jesus made.

Essential Question:

How can I live in peace when I have an enemy, Satan, who is at a level of fear that I do not know, nor do I want to know?

Book of Job:

Have students read pages 169-182 in the book, The Pattern of Sound Teaching.

After students read the information ask them, "What do you want to talk about?"

Remember the Issue:

Remembering to love the word of God is important. When the world lies to us to get us to be prejudiced against the word of God, God will “stir up” our spirit to awaken us to turn to God and away from the world. When we turn to God, this is how we accept spiritual gifts from God.

Remember the Truth Jesus Brought:

In the book of Job, we are told there is a spiritual war in the invisible realm around us. This war includes good and evil. Justice is at the core of the war. God revealed to Job the issue: Job has an enemy, Satan, witnessing against him to God. When Job found out Satan was witnessing against him, Job asked God for someone who could talk to God on his behalf. Job also wanted this person to be able to judge the world. and Job then cried out for a Savior to save people with righteous behaviors and judge the world. Job also asked for a written account of what his adversary was planning against him. Job said if he had something in writing, he would carry it on his shoulder and bind it as a crown unto him. Job was looking for a day when a Savior would come and defeat his enemy. Now that Jesus has defeated the enemy, we only need to hold onto the message Jesus has given us. The issue is that the world is not teaching us to hold onto the message that Jesus has given us.

Job did not have the law of Moses or a written account of how to sacrifice. God awakened Job to the importance of teaching his friends how to sacrifice. Job fought the unknown and unseen spiritual realm with forgiveness. Job’s captivity was turned when he forgave his friends. When Job’s friends came to comfort him, they spoke what was not right about the Lord or Job. Job forgave his friends. God then told his three friends to go to Job and make a sacrifice.

Satan realizes that if he can put a problem in front of us with prosperity, sickness, or death, he can get us to compromise our living sacrifice. Job was made aware of how God knows the thoughts of humans (Job 42:2). Satan wants us to curse God in our thoughts. Satan knows that God requires a sacrifice for sin, so he will try and get us to make a sacrifice (choice) that compromises our sacrifice. When our mind goes to unimaginable places, we will still make a sacrifice (choice). A sacrifice is how we feel close to God. When we sacrifice with self-righteousness, we will be moving closer to Satan and not God. When we believe that the word of God has become flesh, we will make a sacrifice (choice) to teach others how the word of God became flesh with Jesus, and this is when we will be moving closer to God. Remember in the first five lessons before the church age, people were awakened to know that faith requires a sacrifice (choice). Now we have been awakened to know that our choices will spiral into behaviors that show a pattern and they can be called a living sacrifice. Job was awakened to realize that humanity needed a written account to warn people about Satan’s scheme to corrupt our sacrifices (choices). The cost of sin is death. When we die, we will present the temple we have created internally in our body as our living sacrifice. The word of God teaches us how to do this. When someone does not use righteous behaviors to build their internal temple (living sacrifice), they will be quarantined in hell. That is going to be a fearsome place to behold. Do not fool yourself into thinking that you can escape Satan because he will hold you accountable for your sin without forgiveness if that is what your living sacrifice allows him to do.

Remember the Rock God Established:

As it is stated in 2 Corinthians 5:21, “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” Job was among the earliest of those who understood how to associate sacrifice with the forgiveness of sins. He was awakened to pray for his adversary to put in writing all how he would testify against humanity. This was a monumental event in history, and we need to give Job’s words all the justice they deserve. Job did not have an idea that Satan was going to God and trying to get Job to curse God until the Lord shared this information with Job. God does not reveal very much about the spiritual world, but He has revealed Satan to us.

It was revealed to Job by God how Satan was talking badly about him to God. Satan told God that the only reason Job was considered a righteous man was because God was babying Job. This is how God gives Satan some rope, and because Satan is self-righteous, he took the rope and ran with it. Pride gave Satan a false sense of confidence. Satan thought he knew more than God. God did not argue with Satan; God gave Satan some rope and told Satan that Job was in his hands, but to save his life. Satan killed all of Job’s family except for his wife and had a great storm take all of his wealth away. Then Satan left the Lord a second time to get more rope, and he went to Job and struck Job with boils from his head to his feet. Job did not sin with his lips through all of this.

We need to awaken to know the promise of God, that Jesus is coming back to separate the sheep from the goats. Jesus is going to put the sheep on the right side and the goats on His left side. It is apparent from reading the word of God that the sheep are Christ's chosen followers while the goats are the souls who rejected the message Christ was teaching. Sheep are obedient and peaceful, while goats get into trouble and rebel against authority. Christ is also called the good shepherd in the New Testament because the sheep hear Him and follow Him.

Activity:

Complete the BLOG below.

Conclusion:

Job wanted a written account of what Satan was testifying against him with.

Next Lesson:

After God reminds, “stirs up,” and awakens a believer’s heart with the spiritual gift of a new heart and a new spirit the spirit can be measured to receive a heart of flesh. Then a believer is to have a spirit like Jeremiah and bear witness to how to have righteous behaviors that align with the word of God. This is a witness testimony that aligns with the Chief Cornerstone to increase a believer’s faith in God.

BLOG: Write a statement of faith on how the Spirit of God will fill and sanctify your heart by cultivating and conditioning the seed of faith that loves the Word of God that became flesh, Jesus, to grow into peaceful fruit of the spirit that will fill the first spiritual stone pillar of sanctification in the church of Philadelphia.

PROMP STARTER (optional)

My statement of faith to be sanctified through the infilling the first foundational pillar of sanctification in the church of Philadelphia is defined as not what I take up, but what I give up that is valued as important, such as awakening to know ________________ is a thing of the world that I can give up for the sake of _________________________, as being regarded as more important because it is spiritual. The goal of sanctification is Christlikeness. Christlikeness is where the seed of hope begins to have green fruit of the spirit that can be identified as ________________________________.

Melody's Statement of Faith (I modeled my statement of faith; you can use it for yours and tweak it if you want):

Sanctification comes after justification. It is a “work” in progress where I will begin the process of growing my seed to be sanctified as peaceful fruit of the spirit. Being sanctified involves accepting God’s spiritual gift of grace by not being prejudiced against the Word of God that became flesh, Jesus, and to live in the world without being part of the world, by having peace that makes me more like our Lord, Jesus Christ. The goal of sanctification is Christlikeness. Christlikeness is coming into being with green fruit of the spirit now, not just a seed. The green fruit of the spirit is how Christ is growing in my heart to be more Christlike.

Because your statement of faith is an important part of salvation, please write a statement of faith on how the Spirit of God will cultivate and condition your seed of faith into green fruit of the spirit to fill the first stone pillar of sanctification in Jesus' Church of Philadelphia, in the comments section below.
